Last night while watching the NCAA National Football (American Football) Championship, I remarked how excited about my upcoming GSB schedule I was to a close friend. I said, "Should be a pretty light quarter, to be honest. The only class I'm not sure about is Accounting-Based Valuations." My friend's jaw dropped instantly and he remarked, "Yo, dude. That is like the hardest class ever. You have a case due every day. I've worked in finance for 6 years, and I don't even understand the stuff in that class."
I immediately leapt off of my couch and searched for other 3-credit classes that met on Tuesday Thursdays at 4:30PM. Thank God that I was the 58th/60 students to enroll in Global Dynamics. I have drank (drunk?) so many glasses of wine without having a clue what I was doing. Typically, when I drink wine, it goes something like this. "Not ready for liquor, but too full of beer. Let's give that Pinot a quick taste."
I am very excited to finally understand the incredibly complex business dynamics of such an enjoyable and omnipresent industry. After today's serendipitous class enrollment, I'm quite keen to learn more about how to build a successful business while navigating a complex regulatory environment because I too will enter a complex regulatory scene upon graduation.
Cheers!
George - Your post left me inspired and motivated to outperform you. I'm going to see if there are any seats available in "Accounting-Based Valuations".....
