My mom has worked the wine industry for as long as I can remember, and so I grew up with wine as a regular part of family gatherings, dinners with friends, and sometimes just for everyday enjoyment.
But it wasn't until I studied abroad in Paris and made a trip to the Loire Valley that I realized I actually liked the taste of wine. I then took a wine tasting class my senior year of college (read: it was pass/fail class where we tried 8 wines per class and the only notes were tasting notes) and was sold. I know a little bit of the wine basics but have so much more to learn. I'm particularly excited to dig into wine branding and how the various wine regions of the world think about marketing their products.
Dear Kate, the small wine business that I own started out with Loire wines! Some of the best value wines there are around. Would love to speak more to you about them.
