I am taking this class to learn more about an integral part of my life; I drink wine daily, travel to wine regions regularly, and am also a partner of a 6-year-old wine import and distribution business (KOT Selections and Analogue Wine Merchant) based in Singapore.
Because our business is focused on small-scale, family-owned wineries across the Old World and the US, my understanding of the wine world is correspondingly narrow across the entire supply chain. This class will undoubtedly provide new and valuable insights, be it about producers in South America, corporate wine branding, or non-Asian markets.
Further, having read some of my fellow students' posts, I am certain that they will provide fresh and challenging perspectives beyond the standard coursework. I also hope to be able to contribute in a meaningful way to the class, drawing on my own experience.
Last but not least, there's also a competitive aspect. My husband is studying to be a Master of Wine, and I want to outdo him academically!
