Why I'm taking this class

This past year I was lucky enough to visit two world-renowned wine regions - Italy and South Africa - which whetted my appetite for wine and inspired me to take this course. Though I'm a relative wine novice, I'm hoping these experiences, albeit modest, will serve as a jumping off point for understanding the quarter's material. In turn, I hope the course material will provide me with the context necessary not only to deepen my appreciation for wines, but also for the regions and businesses that create them.
