Aesthetic:
I love craft beer. I got into it as a freshly minted 21-year-old who wanted to be a snob about something but figured wine was too hard. Here's my shot at the big leagues.
Professional:
I worked on a consulting case for a wine company, and was fascinated by how little the consumer's purchase seemed to depend on the juice inside the bottle. Labels with roosters and such seemed to be more influential. I hope this class will augment my understanding of how to turn dull matter into desire.
Do you think it's odd that there's not more overlap between the craft beer and wine markets? I can think of some companies that have had success as both beer and spirits producers (e.g., Ballast Point), but none jump to mind doing both beer and wine. While the production processes seem quite different, it seems like there could be lots of value potential in crafting a brand that produced both. Any thoughts?
